Hi Friends! I haven’t posted since May so today I’m pressing pause and taking a few moments to play catch up and share with you some of the events of the past several months.
The summer seemed to fly by as they always do. In June, amidst my regular mom duties and kid activities, I hosted free group yoga classes in the park near my house and in my backyard. It proved to be a fun learning experience for me as I realized just how challenging it can be to plan and host outdoor classes. With the unpredictable Colorado weather, uneven surfaces, noisy playground distractions, bees and even a few critters scampering about our mats, it wasn’t always as easy-peasey or as peaceful as I would have liked. But like they say…yoga teaches you to go with the flow. So that is what we did and I believe we all had a bit of fun with it, even the bees! I plan to do it again next summer.
In July, I began a life coach certification program through Coach Training Alliance. There were eight of us from all over the country and we met via a weekly conference calI with our instructor. In addition to our weekly classes we were required to complete twenty hours of practice coaching. Some of you may even have been roped into being one of my practice clients. If so, thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I completed the program, my practice coaching hours and passed the exam earlier this month and I am now happy to announce that I am a Yoga2Life Certified Life Coach. I offer life coaching as an add on to a private yoga package or on its own. If you’re interested in learning more you can find the details about my coaching packages on the Offerings page.
In August, as I sat scrolling through my Facebook feed, I stumbled across a sponsored post looking for yoga teachers who might be interested in teaching at a yoga retreat in Greece. I thought, ‘Hey, what do I have to lose?’ So I applied and then sort of forgot about it. Flash forward to September and me receiving an email from the retreat planner asking to schedule an interview. OMG! I think I danced around my house for a solid hour after reading that email! I’d say that the interview went well as I recently learned that I was selected to be one of the teachers on the Greece trip! The retreat is planned and hosted by Crew Travelers and will be May 5-10, 2018. Details here.
When you check out the itinerary you’ll see that the trip is packed with a variety of activities, not just yoga. We’ll be exploring the island, eating traditional Greek meals and even volunteering. During the retreat I will be teaching a yoga and creativity class. With the beautiful island of Lesvos as the backdrop, we will dive into an all-levels yoga class designed to inspire the mind and open the creative pathways of the body. Then, we’ll follow the inspiration as we allow ourselves to play…with words, movement and art. It’s going to be a fun adventure you won’t want to miss. If you’ve ever thought about what it would feel like to spend a week living like a Greek Goddess, now is your chance. Grab your favorite travel buddy and join me in Greece this coming May!
In a nutshell, that is what has been going on around here the past few months. As I prepare for the Greece trip, I plan to share more insights on how yoga and creativity intersect as well as tips for boosting your creativity. Additionally, I’ll be exploring ways to stop feeling stuck and start meeting your goals. Stay tuned! Namaste.
